A Dance in the Desert

As she opened the curtains, Kate felt the hot Arizona sun and it seemed to burn through her skin and enter her bloodstream. All of a sudden, she felt a tremendous heat in her body, and an accompanying lethargy like a heavy blanket thrown across her legs. Perfect pool weather, she mused, thankful for the thousandth time that she had decided to move to Arizona. Kate opened the sliding glass door which led from the living room onto the terrace and stepped out in her bathrobe.
