A TEXTBOOK OF ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT, ETHICS AND SOCIETY

Energy may be defined as the capacity of doing work. It is the primary and most important universal measure of all kind of work by human beings and nature. All living things what happens in the world are the expression of flow of energy in one of its form. Though, energy is present in number of forms, i.e., mechanical, electrical, thermal, chemical, biological and hydel-energy, etc., which differ basically from one another, but together constitute the physical reality of our universe. All the physical processes can be constructed as a transition from one form of energy or another. In fact all living beings are operated by means of energy, which is derived from the natural environment. Man is only a part of the energy flow in nature.
