Alternative Development Paths

The IDPAD (Indo-Dutch Programme on Alternatives in Development) promotes social science research that is of relevance to development in India. The programme has been launched to promote new thinking and research on ways to bring about India's all-round and rapid development. This collaborative research project is eventually aimed at exploring 'alternatives in development' to ensure future sustainability of the electricity industry in India, and generate policy options for both developing the power sector and mobilizing foreign resources.
