Applied Chemistry II

There are more than 100 chemical elements known to us that combine with each other

to form a variety of compounds. On the basis of their properties, all these elements are

divided into two categories : metals and non-metals. Metals are generally lustrous,

malleable and ductile, possess high density and are good conductors of heat and

electricity. Non-metals do not possess these properties.
